Abstract

Anemia is one of the most common health problems among adolescent girls and can lead to decreased concentration, fatigue, and growth disorders. Adolescent girls are at higher risk of anemia due to increased iron requirements during growth and blood loss during menstruation. Lack of knowledge about anemia and the importance of iron supplementation leads to low awareness among adolescent girls about preventing anemia. This community service activity aims to increase adolescent girls' knowledge and awareness of the importance of consuming iron tablets as a preventive measure against anemia. The activity was carried out at MTs Subulussalam, targeting adolescent girls through health education methods. The stages of the activity included preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The material was delivered through lectures, discussions, and question and answer sessions on the definition of anemia, its causes, effects, the benefits of iron tablets, and the correct way to consume them. The activity was evaluated using a pretest-posttest questionnaire on anemia knowledge and iron tablet consumption among adolescent girls. Based on the results obtained, the number of adolescents with good knowledge increased from 9 (21.95%) to 36 (87.80%). Thus, this health education activity is important as an effort to increase knowledge and support anemia prevention among adolescent girls.
