Plagiarism Policy

Kebijakan Plagiarisme

"PLAGIARISM" can occur in two forms: 1) the author intentionally copies someone else's work and claims it as their own, or 2) the author copies previously published material of his or her own, either in whole or in part, without providing proper references - also referred to as "self-plagiarism" or "duplicate publication".

Plagiarism before publication

Journal of Health Science ((JOHS) will assess each case of plagiarism on its own merits. If plagiarism is detected, either by the editor, peer reviewers or editorial staff at any stage before publication of the manuscript - before or after acceptance, during editing or at the page proof stage, we will notify the author, ask him or her to rewrite the text or quote the text appropriately and cite the original source. If plagiarism is extensive - that is, if at least 50% of the original/identical submission - the article may be rejected and the author's institution/company will be notified.

When is the Plagiarism check done?

Every manuscript submitted to the Journal of Health Science (JOHS) will be checked for plagiarism after being submitted to JOHS. Plagiarism checking is done using Turnitin Software and after being sent to the editor for editorial review.

How is plagiarism checking done?

Journal of Health Science (JOHS) uses Turnitin Software to detect duplicate and similar texts in submitted manuscripts. Turnitin is a browser-based web service that verifies the authenticity of documents.

Plagiarism

It is possible that the manuscript is not freely accessible by article indexing services due to restrictions by the programmer, journal, or publisher; or is available on the journal website but has not been indexed by article indexing services. In such cases when plagiarism checking is performed, the content of the checked manuscript cannot be compared with the original manuscript due to restrictions and plagiarism will not be detected.
